Fantastic news as former United manager issues the most important update of his life

Former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has given a major update on his current health status.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager took over at Old Trafford in 2014 and helped the side to a top four finish in his first season.

The Dutch manager won the FA Cup in 2016 beating Crystal Palace at Wembley but was sacked after his team failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Since his firing, Van Gaal has been a vocal critic of the club and claimed numerous times that they are not run as a football team and more of a business.

Health concerns

Sadly, the former United manager was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022 and has been living with the disease since.

Incredibly, Van Gaal even admitted that he had been able to live with the condition during the World Cup, where he was the head coach of the Netherlands team in 2022.

He has also continued to work as an advisor for Ajax despite undergoing extensive treatment.

Fantastic news

Dutch outlet VI have reported that “former national coach and successful manager Louis van Gaal has given a positive medical update on his situation.”

Van Gaal gave the reassuring update on his health on the Dutch television show Humberto where he stated, ‘I’m no longer bothered by cancer. Two years ago, I had a few operations. It was all bad then. But it all worked out in the end, so I can manage it now.’

He asserted that he is still keeping on top of his health and said that ‘I have checkups every few months, and that’s going well. I’m getting fitter and fitter.’

Interestingly, the 73 year old does not seem interested in slowing down and has stated that he can see himself working as a manager again.

He explained that he could not imagine returning to the rigours of club management but that he would be attracted to the idea of international management.

Nonetheless, he did stress that he would only be keen to make a return to the dugout of a top tier national team.

Alex is a huge Manchester United fan, inspired by greats of his homeland such as George Best, Harry Gregg and Norman Whiteside. Proud owner of such niche shirts such as Kleberson, Eric Djemba-Djemba and Gary Neville. Grew up pretending to be Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the back garden, with little success.
