Man United have convinced Bendito Mantato to stay at Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United has always been the best place in the country for young players to develop and grow. From Sir Matt Busby, to Sir Alex Ferguson, with several other managers in between. The Red Devils have always given teenagers their chances.

Erik ten Hag has proudly continued that mantra. Just ask Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo about that. If you’re good enough. You’re old enough.

There’s several generational talents waiting in the wings for their opportunities, including Bendito Mantato.

There were talks suggesting that the attacker could potentially leave Old Trafford this summer, though Fabrizio Romano has provided an encouraging update in that regard.

According to his information, the exciting winger is set to stay at United, with Mantato ‘on the verge’ of signing a new scholarship and pre-pro contract with the Red Devils.

The deal is nearly done with the final details of the contract being sorted. Mantato stays at United despite ‘many proposals’ from elsewhere.

The young right-winger has all the attributes required to make it at the highest level. There’s absolutely no doubt that this boy can play. However, it’s all about the right development. There’s no better place for him than the Theatre of Dreams.

Mantato will already be looking at the first-team right-wingers and thinking that he has a great shot at staking his place over the next couple of years. Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood are a thing of the past, while Antony is hardly setting the world alight.

Let’s hope Mantato continues to develop and grow as a footballer. Maybe we’ll see him feature on the pre-season tour in 2025. I think this one comes just a little too soon for the young man.
