Pre-season opportunity for young players

Manchester United’s first two matches of pre-season will offer some of these players the best chance to make an impression.

The Red Devils place Rosenborg on Monday and then Rangers the following Saturday as part of the 2024 pre-season schedule.

These young players will be needed to bolster the numbers, and can stake their own claims for first team involvement.

Of particular note will be young left-back Harry Amass, with United light in this position, and Ethan Wheatley up front, with no recognised strikers among the current first team options back at Carrington.

Ethan Williams is also one to watch. He scored 17 goals in all youth competitions last season, with Wheatley netting

Wheatley struck 23 goals too, with the pair’s combined 40 goals powering the under-18s to three trophies in 2023/24, before making his Manchester United first team debut.
