Rasmus Hojlund faces an uncertain future heading into the final days of the transfer window.
Manchester United underlined Hojlund has no future under Ruben Amorim by signing Benjamin Sesko in a big-money deal.
On the day Sesko was unveiled at Old Trafford, Hojlund was left out of the squad to face Fiorentina, as Amorim started Mason Mount as a striker.
Sesko’s move to United alerted AC Milan, who tried to capitalise on his situation by making a concrete offer for his services.
However, the 22-year-old is reluctant to move to San Siro. The Dane is thought to be keen on staying at United and fighting for his place.
Earlier today, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Milan are “stepping back from the race” to sign the Denmark international.
In recent days, his former club, Atalanta, and Napoli have also been linked with the pacey striker.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli are pushing to get a deal over the line for Hojlund.
The Serie A champions are in the market for a new emergency striker following an injury to Romelu Lukaku.
Napoli have already held initial discussions with United, who are open to listening to offers for their £72m signing. He was absent from Amorim’s matchday squad for the clash against Arsenal in the Premier League opener.
The Naples outfit are “pushing hard” for a loan with an option to buy deal. Further, they are “confident” Hojlund will give his approval to their proposal as they can offer him Champions League football.
Earlier, Napoli explored the possibility of signing Joshua Zirkzee. However, United have no intention to sell the Dutchman, who is highly rated at Carrington.
