Erling Haaland sent a loud transfer message to Manchester United on Friday night, hours after the club agreed a deal to sign Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo. Man United could target Haaland next summer, but how Ronaldo fares on his Old Trafford return will likely act as a factor.
Borussia Dortmund defeated Hoffenheim 3-2 in a Bundesliga classic at Signal Iduna Park on Friday.
The hosts went ahead twice, only for Hoffenheim to respond both times, but Haaland ensured he had the last laugh.
Dortmund faced devastation after Mu’nas Dabbur netted the visitors’ second equaliser in the 90th minute.
But Haaland arrived on cue one minute later, firing the ball home after a game of pinball in the Hoffenheim area to send the home stands into raptures and secure three points.

With Ronaldo Man United-bound, questions have since been asked whether the Norwegian ace will remain on the club’s radar.
The answer? A resounding yes.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have acquired a striker in the two past summer transfer windows, but both are short-term signings.
Edinson Cavani only extended his contract by one year to experience playing in front of a jam-packed Old Trafford crowd and will leave at the end of the season.
By then, Ronaldo will be 37 and 12 months away from his United contract’s expiry, by which point he’d be 38.

The fact is Haaland’s £64million release clause next summer will attract mass interest among Europe’s top clubs.
Considering United were vying for his signature before he joined Dortmund at the request of Solskjaer, it would be unbelievable if they didn’t return after his two prolific seasons in Germany.
Ronaldo could be as dominant as many expect on his return to Manchester, and Mason Greenwood will likely continue his excellent development.
In that case, the club could focus on a defensive midfielder, an area that fans have been clamouring to bolster in the current window.

Judging by recent reports, Haaland may not even be available come next summer.
According to The Telegraph, Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing the 22-year-old as Kylian Mbappe’s potential replacement.
Mbappe is pushing for a move to Real Madrid before the transfer deadline, and PSG would feel pressured to replace him.
Haaland could be playing alongside Ronaldo next season. Still, the prospect of featuring in between Lionel Messi and Neymar at the Parc des Princes a year earlier could prove too tempting.
