Erla María Árnadóttir, Karl Ólafur Hallbjörnsson and Leifur Wilberg Orrason are new employees at the White House. The announcement states that new hires are supporting the company’s growth and meeting increased activities in the business.
“It is a pleasure to receive to our new workforce, all of whom have extensive knowledge and experience in the field of ideas and design. It is important to get more support because despite the pandemic, the activity has increased in the last year and we look forward to continued growth, “says Elín Helga Sveinbjörnsdóttir, CEO of the White House.
Erla María Árnadóttir was hired Art Director and will also provide comprehensive consulting in the field of brand development and marketing.
“Erla María is an award-winning designer and Art Director with extensive experience in the design sector both in Iceland and in Brighton. Erla previously ran the design company Studio Erla & Jonas, from the year 2012. Erla has a master’s degree in cultural management from Bifröst, she has a BA degree in multimedia design and motion graphics from the IED – European Institute of Design, Milano. ”
Karl Ólafur Hallbjörnsson works as a text and idea maker. Karl holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. He has a BA degree in philosophy from the University of Iceland. Karl also spent six months on an exchange program at Kyoto University in Japan. Karl worked as a columnist for the radio show Lestina on Channel 1, where he wrote a weekly column from the beginning of the year 2017 until the year 2020. Karl also worked as a journalist for a while at Viðskiptablaðið and 365 Media. Karl has also worked as a contractor for Kara Connect, Siðmennt and Landsvirkjun.
Leifur Wilberg Orrason has been hired as a graphic designer. Leifur has a BA degree in graphic design from the Iceland Academy of the Arts. He has a BA degree in photography from the Lette Verein – Berufsfachschule für Design in Berlin and a diploma from the School of Photography. Leifur also has a yoga teacher license from the Indian Yoga & Meditation Association, Rishikesh India.
Before Leifur started working for the White House, he worked as a graphic designer at Storytel in Iceland. Leifur worked independently for many years as a designer and photographer for a number of companies, including for Hreyfing heilsurækt, Brandr, Wilbergs Group, Listaháskóli Íslands, Sahara, Listahátíð Reykjavíkur, Icelandic Startups, Tjarnarbíó, Þjóðleikhúsið, Samtökin 78, Gerðasafn and FÍT.
