Barcelona and Netherlands star Memphis Depay has etched his name ever further into the history books of international football on Saturday evening.
Dutch in front Depay is of course currently locked in action.
In their latest World Cup qualifying fixture, Louis van Gaal’s Oranje made the trip to Montenegro, aware that a victory would secure their spot on the plane to next year’s Qatar showpiece.
And, as things stand at the Podgorica City Stadium, all three points is precisely what the Netherlands are headed towards.
Early in the 2nd-half, the visitors lead by a solitary goal.
The strike in question, almost inevitably, came courtesy of the aforementioned Depay, who stepped up to the penalty spot with 25 minutes on the clock to pick out the bottom left corner in confident fashion.

In addition, the Barcelona star also etched his name further into the Netherlands’ history books.
First, it was confirmed by statistician Opta that Memphis has broken his tie with former Blaugrana boss Ronald Koeman, to establish himself as the most prolific-ever spot-kick taker for the Dutch national team:
