“Deal practically done”: Bundesliga giants in advanced talks to sign “fantastic” United star – report

Michael Carrick’s arrival has put the spotlight on Marcus Rashford, who left Manchester United temporarily after falling out with Ruben Amorim. It is understood that Carrick would be keen to welcome Rashford back into the squad should he remain as the side’s head coach. The academy product is enjoying a prolific loan stint at Barcelona, who have yet to make a final decision on his future despite having a £26 million buy option in the summer. While there is still a chance, albeit a very slim one, that Rashford could wear United’s jersey once again, another high-profile Red Devil is certain to permanently part ways with the club at the end of the season. Jadon Sancho’s future is away from Manchester United Jadon Sancho has not played a Premier League match for Manchester United in over two years, having been sent on three separate loan spells since the start of 2024. The £73 million flop, currently on loan at Aston Villa, is in the final months of his contract at United. The Premier League giants have an option to extend his deal by another year, but it has been widely reported that the club’s hierarchy are set to cut their losses and allow him to leave in the summer. The 25-year-old has looked promising under Unai Emery, who recently labelled him as “fantastic”. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Napoli, AC Milan, and Atalanta have all emerged as “potential landing spots” for Sancho. Villa are open to keeping the Englishman in Birmingham beyond this campaign, but the winger is “seriously considering” returning to Borussia Dortmund.  Jadon Sancho keen to join Borussia Dortmund According to a report in Spain, Sancho’s most likely destination is Dortmund, where he has already had two encouraging spells. The United loanee’s camp are willing to return to Germany, as the forward played his best football in the Bundesliga, making the most of his ball-carrying ability and link-up play.  It is believed talks between Dortmund and Sancho are “very advanced” and the deal is considered “practically done” for next summer. Dortmund are confident that, at Signal Iduna Park, Sancho would be able to rediscover the form that made him one of Europe’s most sought-after talents.
