David Moyes told Manchester United hold the key to Premier League dream

Manchester United continue to hold the key for surprise package West Ham and their top-four aspirations.

That’s the verdict from talkSPORT pundit and former Liverpool player, Danny Murphy, who claims the Hammers can upset the party when it comes to Champions League qualification this campaign.

However, that rests solely on what happens to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer amid mounting pressure over his position.

For the second time in 14 days, the Old Trafford giants suffered a hammer blow to their Premier League title dreams, against genuine contenders in the Manchester derby on Saturday lunchtime.

Their defeat vs Manchester City was as eye-catching as their previous 5-0 reverse to bitter rivals Liverpool.

As the dust continues to settle on those results, plucky West Ham – managed by David Moyes – moved up to third-place courtesy of an impressive 3-2 victory over Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Murphy doesn’t think the Londoners can remain in the top-three, but United sticking by Solskjaer opens the door up for a fourth-place finish this season.

Who will qualify for the UCL this season? Have your say in the comments section below.

He said: “I don’t mean to do this deliberately, but I’ll bring this subject back to Man United.

“Nobody else is getting into the top-three; Liverpool, City and Chelsea will be the top-three. If they are not, then I would be gobsmacked with the quality they have all got.

“Yep [everyone is going after fourth-place] and if United remain with Ole, then West Ham have got a chance.”
