Confirmed United XI vs Man City: Hojlund, Maguire, Ugarte start; Rashford, Garnacho not in squad

Rasmus Hojlund leads the line and Manuel Ugarte will protect the defence in the United side that will start the Manchester derby against City today.

Hojlund will be flanked by Amad and Mason Mount, with Alejandro Garnacho a surprise omission from the United side.

Marcus Rashford is not selected and not even in the squad.

Garnacho is also not in the squad.

The absence of the pair has not yet been explained. There has been no suggestion of an injury to either player until today.

Meanwhile, Andre Onana is in goal.

The three centre backs will be Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez.

Noussair Mazraoui pushes up to wing back, with Diogo Dalot his counterpart on the left.

Ugarte is joined by Bruno Fernandes in central midfield.

The team is exactly the one leaked by The MEN yesterday.

On the subs bench are Altay Bayindir, Victor Lindelof, Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Kobbie Mainoo, Antony and Josh Zirkzee.

Kick-off at the Etihad is at 4.30pm.
