Confirmed United XI vs Fiorentina: Mbeumo, Cunha, Heaven, Mount all start

Ruben Amorim has announced his final Manchester United starting XI of pre-season, with their opening Premier League match against Arsenal just eight days away.

Defence

Altay Bayindir is in goal. Andre Onana is back in full training but was not deemed ready to take part.

Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire and Ayden Heaven are the three centre backs. The selection of both Maguire and Heaven suggests that Amorim is still weighing up who should join Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt in the back three against Arsenal. Luke Shaw is another option, he is on the bench today.

Midfield and Wing Backs

Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro are the central midfield pair, which is likely to be the case a week on Sunday.

Patrick Dorgu is at left wing back and Amad at right wing back.

Forwards

There is no Rasmus Hojlund in the starting line-up again. With the arrival of Benjamin Sesko, the club seems keen to sell the Dane or send him out on loan, although reports suggest he wants to stay and fight for his place.

With Mason Mount, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo as the front three, we expect some fluidity but either Cunha or Mbeumo will probably be the nominated striker.

Substitutes

Ton Heaton and Dermot Mee are the substitute keepers. De Ligt, Shaw, Tyler Fredricson, Dio Dalot and Diego Leon are the defensive reinforcements. Lisandro Martinez is not yet ready to return on his recovery from injury and Nous Mazraoui is still unavailable after an injury picked up in pre-season.

Toby Collyer, Manu Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo are the midfield options. Collyer could be heading out on loan this season.

Up front, Hojlund and Chido Obi are the subs. Josh Zirkzee is back in full training but not yet ready to take part.

Here is the full line-up for today’s 12.45pm kick off:
