Confirmed United XI vs Everton: Mbeumo and Cunha both start

Bryan Mbeumo is in the starting XI on his debut for Manchester United this evening.

The Red Devils take on Everton in the last match in their pre-season tour of the USA.

Defence

Altay Bayindir returns in goal in place of Tom Heaton. Andre Onana is back in training but not ready to take part.

The centre backs are Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw. This is increasingly looking like the trio head coach Ruben Amorim intends to start against Arsenal in two weeks’ time when United kick off their 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Lisandro Martinez is back in training but not yet match ready. Harry Maguire is being used sparingly on the tour and is perhaps carrying a knock. Nous Mazraoui is not on the bench so presumably has not recovered from the knock he sustained earlier in pre-season.

Wing Backs and Midfield

Amad is once again in the right wing back position but Patrick Dorgu is rested on the left, with Diogo Dalot replacing him.

Manu Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo are the central midfielders.

Forwards

As stated, Mbeumo makes is debut and could play as the striker, with Bruno Fernandes in the right 10 and Cunha returning as the left 10.

It could also be that Fernandes plays in midfield with Mainoo as a 10, or one of them plays as a false 9. It’s also possible that Cunha plays as the CF.

Rasmus Hojlund is rested. Josh Zirkzee is back in training but, like Onana and Martinez, is not yet ready to return.

The substitutes are Heaton, Dermot Mee, Dorgu, Tyler Fredricson, Maguire, Ayden Heaven, Diego Leon, Toby Collyer, Casemiro, Sekou Koné, Mason Mount, Ethan Williams, Bendito Mantato, Chido Obi and Hojlund.

Kick off in Atlanta is at 10pm BST.

Both Bryan and Matheus are in our XI to face the Toffees 🤩
