A key Arsenal defender has been spotted with ice on his knee following the Gunners’ clash with Watford.

Arsenal march on Arsenal played host to Watford on Sunday afternoon, aiming to make it eight league games unbeaten.

And, when all was said and done in north London, this is exactly what Mikel Arteta and co. managed.

The Gunners saw a pair of goals ruled out for offside, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having also missed a penalty.

However, the breakthrough would eventually arrive in the second 45, via Emile Smith Rowe:

Tomiyasu spotted with potential knee issue Their latest win saw Arsenal climb up to 5th place in the Premier League table, three points clear of Manchester United, and four clear of bitter rivals, Tottenham.

On an otherwise positive day, however, the Gunners also appear to have been dealt a potential personnel blow.

Since his arrival in August, Takehiro Tomiyasu has been a revelation at Arsenal, working very well in Mikel Arteta’s asymmetrical system.

However, as reported by several journalists post-match this evening, the defender was spotted walking out to do interviews with a heavily iced up left knee:

The fact that Tomiyasu was able to walk unassisted is surely a good sign, but Arsenal’s fans will nevertheless be concerned, given how impressive the Japanese international has looked since joining the club.
