Club could be ‘open’ to selling Man United-linked 23-year-old this summer, rather than losing other key stars: report

Crystal Palace could be willing to part ways with Marc Guehi during the upcoming summer window.

It feels like Manchester United have already been linked with moves to sign pretty much every name under the sun. It’s sort of what happens when you’re the biggest club in the country.

Those rumours will continue between now and the end of the summer, while we’ve now had many years experience at trying to sift through the rubbish and work out who the true targets are.

A centre-back addition is an absolute must. Jarrad Branthwaite has been heavily linked with filling that void, as has Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.

The Englishman has had a stellar season for Crystal Palace this term, who may struggle to keep ahold of their key performers.

According to GiveMeSport, Palace could be ‘open’ to selling the United-linked 23-year-old this summer, rather than losing the likes of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.

Palace are determined to not lose all three of their stars this coming summer, putting measures in place to ensure that at least one, preferably two of the threesome stay in London.

Although Guehi would be sorely missed if sold, his sale, in a deal worth around the £50m mark, would boost Oliver Glasner’s transfer budget this coming summer. Hence, they’d entertain his possible sale.

From a United standpoint, Guehi would be an excellent signing. Aged just 23, he’s young enough to offer real longevity for this Red Devils side, while do not forget he’s now a full England international. That’s just how good his individual performances have been.

His £50m price-tag is considerably cheaper than that of Branthwaite’s, which could offer United more flexibility in the market as they look to plug many holes within the current squad.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Marc Guehi would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
