Chelsea pushing to sign prolific United star, talks already held over big-money move – report

Marcus Rashford has rediscovered his spark under Hansi Flick at Barcelona after falling out of favour at Manchester United. The United academy product secured his dream move to Barca over the summer, joining the Blaugrana on a season-long loan deal.  The 28-year-old has proven to be an instant hit in Spain, having been directly involved in 15 goals in 16 appearances in all competitions. His form at Barcelona has also paved the way for a return to the England squad.  Barcelona yet to make final decision on Rashford’s permanent transfer With Ruben Amorim adamant that Rashford has no place in his project, United also handed Barcelona an option to buy, thought to be valued at £26m, the Englishman at the end of the season.  Rashford has impressed Flick with his exploits. Still, his future remains uncertain as the La Liga giants’ financial predicament could complicate their transfer plans. It has been widely reported that Barcelona want Rashford to considerably lower his wage demands. They might also look to renegotiate his transfer fee with United. The reluctance from the Spanish side have opened the door for Chelsea to test the waters.  Chelsea going all out to sign Rashford According to Fichajes, Chelsea have made Rashford their “top priority” and are willing to do whatever it takes to bring him back to the Premier League. The Blues signed Alejandro Garnacho from United in the summer to strengthen their left flank. However, the Argentine has yet to fully convince, boasting just a goal in the Premier League for Enzo Maresca’s side.  Every loanee from Manchester United 2025/26 PlayerLoan clubDuration Marcus RashfordFC BarcelonaSeason Toby CollyerWest Bromwich AlbionSeason Rasmus HojlundSSC NapoliSeason Jadon SanchoAston VillaSeason Andre OnanaTrabzonsporSeason Enzo Kana-BiyikLausanneSeason Sonny AljofreeNotts CountySeason Dan GoreRotherham UnitedSeason Ethan WheatleyNorthampton TownSeason Radek VitekBristol CitySeason Jack MoorhouseLeyton OrientSeason Habeeb OgunneyeNewport CountySeason Joe HugillBarnetSeason Elyh HarrisonShrewsbury TownSeason Louis JacksonSolihull MoorsSeason Ethan WilliamsFalkirkSeason Ethan EnnisFleetwood TownSeason Harry AmassSheffield WednesdaySeason Lucy NewellBirmingham CitySeason Emma WatsonCrystal PalaceSeason Keira BarrySunderlandJanuary Evie RabjohnSunderlandSeason The Spanish outlet claim Chelsea have “already begun talks” with Rashford’s representatives to persuade him to move to Stamford Bridge.  The London outfit want the United loanee to spearhead their attack. Accordingly, they are willing to offer him a lucrative contract that would see him earn significantly more than what Barcelona are prepared to offer.
