Champions League giants preparing €35m offer for United star who has shown immense potential under Amorim – report

Inter Milan appear determined to sign Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee, as per reports.

Such has been Rasmus Hojlund’s recent performances as a number nine that many United fans are hoping the injured Zirkzee, a striker with just three Premier League goals, makes a miracle recovery in time for the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

There is no denying that the Dutchman, who joined United from Bologna last summer, has left a lot to be desired with his output. However, the 23-year-old has still shown flashes of brilliance.

It seems Inter also admire Zirkzee’s technical prowess and link-up play in the final third.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the Champions League finalists have set their sights on the United forward.

Now, Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) have shed light on new details about Inter’s alleged pursuit.

It is understood that the Serie A giants are already planning their move, and an offer is being prepared for Zirkzee.

They want to propose an initial loan deal with the option to buy him for around €35 million, plus potential bonus payments.

The Italian outlet add that the option would be “transformed into an obligation” if certain conditions are met. Inter would also be willing to offer him a lucrative contract.

United signed Zirkzee for a fee in the region of €40m. As such, the possibility of recouping the majority of the fee for the not-so-prolific signing might be tempting for the club’s hierarchy.

In Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram, Simone Inzaghi already has two phenomenal strikers at his disposal, so Zirkzee might struggle for game time at San Siro.

Further, he has impressed as a wide playmaker under Ruben Amorim, who would not be very open to depleting his threadbare attack.
