Manchester City clinch Carabao Cup against Tottenham
The Carabao Cup third round draw takes place tonight and we’ve got it covered.
Holders Manchester City have had a stranglehold on this competition for the best part of the last decade. Their victory last season marked a fourth consecutive triumph in the competition and a sixth in the space of eight years.
Pep Guardiola’s side enter this year’s edition along with six other Premier League sides taking part in European competition – Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester City, West Ham and Tottenham.
They join the 25 sides who safely made it through round two over the last two nights.

Elsewhere….Southampton ended up winning 8-0 against Newport County and Arsenal are going through the motions, six goals to the good against the Baggies.

Final ball numbersI think it’s safe to say Southampton will be ball number 31, they’re 7-0 up now. And likewise, it’s fairly certain Arsenal, who are 5-0 up, will be 32.
30 is the only one left to discover, Newcastle bs Burnley looks destined for a penalty shootout.

The final teams in the drawDoesn’t look like there will be any shocks tonight in the final three games of the second round.
A strong Arsenal side are leading a much-changed West Brom one 3-0 at The Hawthorns.
Southampton are finding it similarly easy-going, with the Saints 6-0 up on League Two Newport County.
And in the all Premier League tie between Newcastle and Burnley it’s goalles with just over 20 minutes to go.
Tonight’s draw won’t be as zany as previous ones…There’s been some eventful EFL Cup draws in the past…. and another is planned for next month
