The Annual General Meeting of SVFR will be held 25. February next and there will be three vacant seats on the company’s board.
The chairman’s chair will be elected by self-election, with Jón Þór Ólason, the current chairman, running alone. In addition, a representative council will now be elected, consisting of Aðalsteinn Ingólfsson, Brynja Gunnarsdóttir, Elín Ingólfsdóttir, Karl Andrés Gíslason, Lilja Bjarnadóttir, Ólafur Kr. Ólafsson, Örn Viðar Skúlason, Þórólfur Halldórsson and Þorsteinn Ólafsson.
There are new faces in the candidacy for the board and that is a source of joy. These include Helgi Jónsdóttir, Lára Kristjánsdóttir and Martein Jónasson. Then Ólafur Finnbogason and Ragnheiður Thorsteinsdóttir bid again. To see more about the candidates, information about them can be found on Stangaveiðifélag’s website www.svfr.is
Not mentioned on the web in which format elections take place, but since there are number restrictions in force, not everyone who wants to attend the Annual General Meeting can probably attend the by-elections. Nevertheless, it must be considered peculiar that NGOs such as SVFR have not introduced technological innovations such as electronic voting to get more members to vote and participate in the work of the association. It must be considered a rather weak mandate of the board in such a large company when a person 200 votes.
