Bundesliga midfield “diamond” wants to move abroad, United already plotting blockbuster raid next year – report

Angelo Stiller has provided an update on his future amid rumours linking him with Manchester United.

The Red Devils have enjoyed an eventful summer, roping in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, Diego Leon, and Senne Lammens.

However, recent reports have suggested that Ruben Amorim also had midfield reinforcements on his agenda this year. Carlos Baleba was named as an option, but Brighton & Hove Albion refused to let him go.

Stiller was apparently on the English giants’ radar as well following a stellar campaign with VfB Stuttgart. The 24 year old registered four goals and 11 assists from 47 games in all competitions last season, helping the German side win the DFB Pokal.

While United failed to secure the player’s signature this summer, it is believed that they could return for him next year.

Stiller wants to move abroad

Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso reportedly had his eyes on Stiller, who has been compared to legendary midfielder Toni Kroos. However, Los Blancos opted against a move this summer.

Stiller now looks set to stay at the MHPArena at least until the turn of the year, although countryman Florian Wirtz’s move to Liverpool appears to have caught his eye.

Speaking recently, as cited by SportsBILD (via Manchester Evening News), Stiller revealed that he would like to join a foreign club in the future.

“I’m currently not thinking about a move. Generally speaking, I’m interested in moving abroad at some point; I thought that Florian Wirtz’s decision to go to Liverpool was cool,” said Stiller.

The former Bayern Munich academy graduate’s words will be likely music to United’s ears with a gaping hole still in Amorim’s midfield.

Stiller wants to play in MLS

A lot of current superstars, including Lionel Messi, have preferred to spend the final days of their careers in the US. Stiller has now expressed a desire to do the same.

“But only one thing is certain for me: At the end of my career, I absolutely want to play in the USA, in the MLS. This is 100 per cent my plan, my goal,” said Stiller.

As things stand, the German midfielder could ignite a bidding war for his signature in 2026, with United likely to be in the mix.
