Reported by Fabrizio Romano, Fernandes will put pen to paper on a new United contract that will be valid until 2027 with an option to extend it by one more year.
The new deal will also see the Portuguese, who currently earns £240k-a-week (€286k/$306k), become one of the highest-paid players at Old Trafford.
Earlier in the summer, the 29-year-old was linked with a move away from the club as Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain showed interest in signing him. Saudi Pro League giants and Cristiano Ronaldo’s club Al-Nassr were also keen on roping in the star player.
Fernandes was one of the star performers for his club last season as they won the FA Cup. The Portugal international appeared in 48 matches across all competitions where scored 15 times and contributed with 13 assists including an assist in the FA Cup final win over Manchester City.
