Breakthrough in Jadon Sancho exit as European giant makes explosive offer, INEOS will be buzzing – report

Juventus have submitted a €25 million bid to sign Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, according to a report from Italy.

Sancho, 25, is set to return to Manchester this month after Chelsea activated a £5 million cancellation fee to annul the obligation clause in his loan move from United last summer.

He could not reach personal terms with the West London club as they refused to match his existing salary at Old Trafford, believed to be worth in excess of £250,000 a week.

There is zero interest from Ruben Amorim in reintegrating Sancho into the senior squad, however, and the club are actively looking to an exit this summer.

The player’s remaining book value following his £73 million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 is around £14.6 million, meaning any deal United strike above this price will constitute a positive PSR boost. But if they sell below, it will incur a negative hit.

Sancho’s wages, and his refusal to compromise on them, constitute the most significant hurdle to a permanent departure, however.

Serie A champions Napoli have registered an interest but only want to take the winger on loan and will not match his salary, despite Sancho’s keenness on a move to the Diego Armanda Maradona stadium.

Similarly, a return to Dortmund was mooted but, again, the total financial outlay is considered too expensive and United would need to help facilitate a deal – something the Reds are intent on avoiding.

Juventus were also in the hunt for Sancho, having expressed an interest in signing the 25-year-old last summer before his move to Chelsea. And the Italian heavyweight appears intent on beating their domestic rival to the punch for the winger.

Italian reporter Marco Giordano (Radio CRC) reveals the Old Lady made “contact” with United executives yesterday to present an offer worth €25 million for Sancho.

Translated Tweet: “Important contact Juventus-United yesterday evening. Comolli offered 25 million to dt Wilcox for Jadson Sancho. The proposal was considered very important: now, Juve must convince the player who, instead, has shown interest in joining Napoli, intrigued by the blue project.”

The report states Juventus will need to “convince” Sancho to accept their proposal as he has “shown interest in joining Napoli”.

But the winger will be unlikely to get the choice as United will prioritise Juventus’ permanent proposal over Napoli’s temporary one, given the Neapolitan club’s loan offer will require continued contributions from the Reds to facilitate.
