Manchester United might not be out of the running for Victor Osimhen’s signature just yet, if the latest reports are to be believed.
The Nigerian has been a long-term target for the club, but his wage demands coupled with Napoli’s asking price have meant a deal never materialised.
The 26-year-old was reportedly set for a return to Galatasaray, where he spent last season on loan, after turning down a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.
But the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Gala’s bid has fallen short of the Serie A champions’ demands.
Osimhen to Galatasaray has stalled
The Nigeria international has a €75 million release clause for non-Italian teams, and the Turkish giants had agreed to pay that amount.
But they would like to pay in installments, because of which the Italian side had asked for the required bank guarantees, in case of non-compliance.
It is not mandatory to provide the said guarantees, but Napoli have insisted on the same, and Galatasaray have failed to provide them up till now.

United on high alert
The striker is said to be furious with his parent club, and is even refusing to return for pre-season training if they do not accept the Istanbul-based side’s offer.
“Victor Osimhen is pressuring Napoli to accept Galatasaray’s installment-based offer. He has issued an ultimatum to the club. He doesn’t want to join the training camp!,” Turkish transfer pundit Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claimed on X.
United have the chance to hijack the deal, having struggled so far to land a ruthless finisher to replace Rasmus Hojlund, who struggled big time last season.
Ruben Amorim needs an elite striker, and Victor Osimhen perfectly fits the bill. Whether INEOS try to complete a stunning late smash-and grab deal remains to be seen.
