La Liga giants Barcelona have, on Thursday, been dealt an altogether concerning blow on the personnel front.
Barca’s woes Ronald Koeman and co. will of course be back in action this weekend.
With the international break having now come to a close across Europe, the Blaugrana are set to welcome Valencia to the Camp Nou on Sunday night.
Barca head into proceedings eyeing a much-needed return to form, on the back of a frankly abysmal opening to the campaign.
With seven games played in La Liga, the Catalans currently sit all the way down in 9th, owing to just a solitary victory from the club’s last four league outings.
Elsewhere, on the continent, Koeman’s men have looked even worse, with a deserved 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich having been followed by a similar scoreline versus Benfica in the Champions League.

Araujo latest And, as outlined above, with just 72 hours to go ahead of the club’s showdown with Valencia, Barcelona’s woes have continued to mount, by means of an altogether untimely blow on the personnel front.
The player set for a spell on the sidelines? Ronald Araujo.
Central defender Araujo, one of few bright sparks amid an otherwise disappointing opening to the season at the Camp Nou, was in action with Uruguay last Sunday night.
La Celeste made the trip to Argentina for a World Cup qualifying showdown, but were eventually put to the sword by three goals to nil, courtesy of a Lionel Messi-inspired Albiceleste.
Not sure even Lionel Messi meant to score this one! 😂

Araujo, meanwhile, was forced off late on at El Monumental, with a muscle problem.
And, on Thursday evening, an update on the wellbeing of the stopper has been forthcoming. As per an official announcement across the Blaugrana’s social media platforms, Araujo has picked up a hamstring injury, ‘making him unavailable for selection’ for the time being:
