Aston Villa vs Brentford Aston Villa will be back in Premier League action on Saturday afternoon.

The Villans are set to play host to newly-promoted Brentford in a 3pm kick-off.

Brentford head into the game on the back of a solid start to life in the Premier League.

The Bees would beat Arsenal 2-0 on the opening day of the season, before then drawing with Crystal Palace last time out.

Villa, meanwhile, fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Watford on the opening weekend, but bounced back with a win over Newcastle United last time out.

Aston Villa team news ahead of Brentford Ahead of Saturday’s game, Dean Smith would speak to the press on Friday.

When doing so, the Villa boss provided an injury update on his side, with the news having proven altogether mixed.

Ollie Watkins – the club’s top scorer last term – has missed the opening two games of this season due to injury.

However, Smith confirmed on Friday that if the striker can get through training today, then he will be available for selection this weekend:

“Ollie Watkins will train with us today and if he gets through training, he’ll be available for selection.”

In less positive news, though, the Claret and Blue boss also stated that Leon Bailey, Bertrand Traore, Morgan Sanson and Keinan Davis remain sidelined:
