Arsenal’s torrid start Arsenal have endured a torrid start to the 2021-22 campaign. Struck with injuries and a coronavirus outbreak in the camp, they limped to a 2-0 opening night defeat to Premier League new boys, before being completely outclassed by European Champions in a game that they were lucky to only lose by two in.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, it gets no easier for the Gunners, with an away tie to Premier League champions and Champions League runners up Manchester City. A poor result would almost certainly see Mikel Arteta’s side heading into the international break in the relegation zone three games into the season.
De Bruyne ruled out of clash In a small boost to Arsenal’s slim chances of victory at the weekend however, Kevin De Bruyne has been ruled out of the fixture through injury by Belgium coach Roberto Martinez.
Speaking upon the announcement of his Belgium squad, of which De Bruyne will not be a part of, Martinez revealed that:
“He played against Spurs, but felt some pain again. He won’t play this weekend.”

Of course, with the attacking talent that Manchester City have, and the addition of Jack Grealish, there will be little rest bite for the Gunners. Arteta’s side will still have to face three or more of Grealish, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres, Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva.
However, it offers the smallest glimmer of hope.
