Arsenal’s search for creativity Arsenal’s search for creativity is well known, with the Gunners in desperate need of an additional spark in their attacks.
Martin Odegaard spent the latter half of last season on loan at The Emirates Stadium, but Real Madrid have as of yet shown little sign of wanting to part ways with the 22 year old again this summer.
As a consequence, Arsenal have allegedly opened negotiations with Leicester City for midfield creator James Maddison, according to football.london writer Chris Wheatley.
Excl: Arsenal have proposed a player plus cash deal for Leicester midfielder James Maddison.

Wheatley reported that the Gunners have “proposed a player plus cash deal” for Maddison, leading to speculation about who those players on offer could be.
Maddison blow However, this has since been cleared up, with the same outlet suggesting that Reiss Nelson, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah were all spoken of as part of the deal.

Despite the offers, Football.London report that “Leicester are not interested in taking any of Arsenal’s players”, and would prefer a cash only deal, in which Arsenal would need to stump up 70 million pounds.

While Maddison would be “open” to a move, it is difficult to see the Gunners finding 70 million pounds without shifting some of their existing players first, especially if they plan to conduct further, much-needed business.
Would Maddison be worth 70 million pounds?
