Andreas Pereira’s father reveals Manchester United player’s transfer plans – Manchester Evening News

Andreas Pereira’s father has claimed that it might be ‘difficult’ for the Manchester United midfielder to return to Europe.

Despite a typically impressive pre-season, It was announced in the summer that Periera would head out on loan again.

Pereira, 25, made his United debut under Louis Van Gaal six years ago but he’s since failed to establish himself in the Reds’ first team and he’s left the club on loan a total of four times with temporary spells at Granada, Valencia, Lazio and now Flamengo.

Pereira has otherwise failed to convince on his previous loan moves away from Old Trafford, however, the Brazilian international is excelling with Flamengo this term and he’s made 18 appearances in which he’s found the back of the net on three occasions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is back under pressure as Manchester United manager. The Reds’ victory at Tottenham was soon forgotten as they fell to a dire 2-0 defeat in the Manchester derby, and saw the vultures circling around the Norwegian once again.

Marcos Pereira is Pereira’s father and he spoke to Esporte Espetacular recently to discuss where his son’s future could lie.

“I think that today is the best moment in his career, not only on the field, but in the locker room, in the club,” Marcos Pereira said.

“In today’s conditions, I think it’s difficult for him to return to Europe, in case Flamengo wants to keep him.”

Pereira’s contract at United expires in the summer of 2023.
