Amad confirms Manchester United return date after injury – Manchester Evening News

Manchester United’s Amad has confirmed he ‘should’ return to full training at Carrington by Friday afternoon.

Amad arrived at United last year for £37m from Atalanta but, after scoring against AC Milan in the Europa League, he was limited to sporadic first team opportunities, which led to the framework being agreed to loan the youngster out for this season.

The winger was set to join Dutch side Feyenoord on loan this summer, however he sustained a thigh muscle injury that prevented him from temporarily leaving the club and has since been sidelined with that issue, undergoing rehabilitation.

Amad returned to light training in late September and he’s now revealed his full comeback isn’t far away.

The 19-year-old explained that he expects to join the rest of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in first team training this week.

“It’s going very well. The injury is doing well, I think today is my last day of recovery and I think, tomorrow, I’ll be ready. I should be training with the group. I hope to be ready for that training. It’s a nice feeling,” Amad told United’s in-house media.

“To tell you the truth, to be out for so long is not nice. When you’re out [with an injury], you feel like you’re wasting time [not being able to play] but now obviously I’m back in, feeling happy and I hope I won’t have any more injuries and I hope to go on.

Would you like to see Amad leave on loan? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. “You do need to be strong mentally and especially for me because I should’ve gone on loan and this injury meant that I couldn’t.

“It couldn’t go ahead. That was a bit frustrating for me but I hope to go to my max.”
