Amad and Yoro outstanding for United, but this star was on another planet vs Athletic Club

Manchester United beat Athletic Club 4-1 in the return leg of their semi-final tie, to book their spot in the final of the Europa League, where they will face Tottenham Hotspur. Here are our player ratings from the game.

(A score of 6 is around average)

Andre Onana 5 – Should have got a stronger hand on the goal but didn’t do much wrong after that.

Victor Lindelof 6 – Solid performance. Didn’t put a foot wrong and quietly went about his business. An accomplished showing.

Harry Maguire 4 – Lazy pass that led to Athletic’s opener. A few shaky moments. Not a very good day in the office for the Englishman.

Leny Yoro 9 – Monstrous! United’s best player. Came up with several blocks to thwart Athletic inside the box. Had the beating of the visitors on almost every occasion. Sensational when playing out from the back and played a vital role in the equaliser, dancing his way inside the box before passing the ball to Mason Mount.

Noussair Mazraoui 6 – Received an early booking for a jump but recovered from then and did well.

Casemiro 8 – Wasn’t having the best game in the middle of the park but headed home to complete the comeback and secure United’s spot in the final.

Manuel Ugarte 6 – Busy as usual in the middle of the park and made some brilliant contributions on the edge of the box.

Patrick Dorgu 7 – Got forward at every single opportunity and delivered one or two crosses inside the box. Had a few cracks at goal even though he didn’t trouble the Athletic goalkeeper.

Alejandro Garnacho 5- Missed two very good chances in the first half that could have put the tie to bed early on. Should really be doing better in those situations but that’s been the story of his season.

Bruno Fernandes 7 – Another captain’s performance! Didn’t get on the score sheet but still very influential. Exquisite delivery for Casemiro’s goal.

Rasmus Hojlund 8 – Got a goal. Simple as that.

Substitutes

Luke Shaw 6 – Did well when he came on and injected lots of energy

Amad 8 – What a cameo! Electric and he struck fear in the Athletic defenders. Just sensational with almost everything he did. Took on his defender time and time again and registered an assist for Hojlund’s goal.

Mason Mount 9 – Great turn and finish to restore parity. Scored another long-range goal to make it 4-1.

Kobbie Mainoo 5 – On the pitch for the final minutes.
