After €95m blunder United now plotting move to sign another Ajax winger in €32m deal – report

Manchester United are considering returning to Amsterdam in search of a new winger. In the summer of 2022, Manchester United signed young Brazilian Antony from Ajax in a deal worth €95 million. The right-winger had an electric start to life in Manchester. However, he steadily lost his spark, crumbling under the weight of expectation at United. Antony is now plying his trade with Real Betis in Spain, and the Red Devils are planning to take a gamble on another Ajax youngster. Manchester United enter race to sign Mika Godts According to The Touchline on X, Manchester United are interested in Ajax winger Mika Godts. The account, which has 1.5 million followers on X, wrote: “EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United have put Ajax winger Mika Godts on their shortlist! The young winger is a much wanted target across all of Europe.” Ajax are reported to be demanding €32 million for the 20-year-old, whose contract runs until 2029. The Belgian Under-21 international has 14 goals and 11 assists to his name across all competitions in his breakout campaign for the Dutch giants. The left-winger is a direct and pacey attacker who is not afraid to take on his defender and make use of his right foot to test the goalkeeper from range. Antony’s disastrous stint might have scarred a few figures at Old Trafford, but Godts’ price tag and potential make him a risk worth taking. Manchester United following Ajax midfielder Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are watching Ajax starlet Sean Steur as well. The 18-year-old two-footed midfielder has caught the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs with his technical ability and ball-carrying. However, given Steur’s age, he is likely being targeted with a view to the long term. As far as the upcoming window is concerned, United are keen on signing the likes of Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba.
