“Absolutely finished my hand”: Fulham player blown away by United star’s incredible strength

Manchester United avoided a late collapse against Fulham in Michael Carrick’s third game in charge. United controlled the majority of the game at Old Trafford, taking a two-goal lead into the final 10 minutes. Fulham scored twice in the space of six minutes to level the scoreline, but Benjamin Sesko’s stoppage-time goal ensured all three points for the home side. The solid midfield pivot of Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro has been a highlight of Carrick’s reign so far. On Sunday, the partnership was broken in the 74th minute, when the interim boss introduced Manuel Ugarte, inadvertently handing Fulham an opportunity to come back into the game. Alex Iwobi talks about Kobbie Mainoo’s strength Kobbie Mainoo, in particular, produced another all-round performance in his third consecutive Premier League start.  The 20-year-old was aggressive out of possession, making several well-timed tackles to get the Old Trafford crowd roaring. In possession, he was composed and frequently helped his side move higher up the field.  The Englishman’s physicality even caught Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi, who is arguably one of the strongest ball-carriers in the Premier League, by surprise. 🚨🎥 | Alex Iwobi sends a message to Kobbie Mainoo: “Kobbie man.. you absolutely finished my hand. Ruben Amorim blocked United’s attempt to renew Mainoo’s contract Mainoo has played a pivotal role in United’s promising run of form and has accordingly received a lot of praise for his performances. However, this makes Ruben Amorim’s reluctance to start the young midfielder all the more puzzling. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming that “a new contract was agreed by Mainoo last year but Ruben Amorim did not sign it off.” However, United have now re-opened talks to renew Mainoo’s contract. With Casemiro nearing the end of his time in Manchester, the Stockport-born talent could soon become the main man in the middle of the park at the Theatre of Dreams.
