Man Utd debut imminent this week as Carrick handed new four-man boost – London Evening Standard

The midfielder has since started training with his new team-mates at Carrington and there is every expectation he will be named in the squad that travels to Gothenburg for the high-profile pre-season friendly.

“It’s hard to describe just how proud I am to join Manchester United,” Tielemans said after completing his move.

“Signing for such a special club feels incredible, it is the culmination of years of dedication since I first fell in love with football.

“I have had the privilege of experiencing success in the game and it has only increased my determination to achieve more. The ambition from everyone at the club is extremely clear; we are all determined to push for the biggest trophies over the coming years.”

Man Utd‘s travelling squad could also be strengthened by the returns of captain Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Matheus Cunha and Noussair Mazraoui.

The quartet, like Tielemans, were given an extended break following their respective exits from the World Cup, but were back at Carrington on Monday to begin their pre-seasons.

As Argentina faced Spain in the World Cup final and England beat France in the ‘bronze final’, it means the trio of Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford are due to report back following the PSG clash.
