West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen has made a final decision on his future amid links to Manchester United, Fabrizio Romano reveals. Wing Wizard The Red Devils are prioritising a major revamp in midfield this summer, with two deals already struck for Premier League-proven operators in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. INEOS are not limiting their focus to the engine room, however, with reinforcements on the radar in attack as well. A new left winger is considered more pressing, though a more reliable striker to support Benjamin Sesko is also wanted. This has led United to identify Bowen as an option, with the 29-year-old England international a versatile forward capable of playing right across the frontline. The former Hull City star is best deployed as a right-winger, but has consistently played through the middle for West Ham, and even out on the opposite flank on numerous occasions. Wherever he has played, he has produced goals. Despite being the sole threat in a relegated side managed by a defensive head coach last season, Bowen returned nine goals and 11 assists. The year prior, 13 goals and nine assists; and the season before that, 16 goals and six assists. This would be an excellent record for a winger playing for a Champions League club. For West Ham, it is nothing short of remarkable – and explains why the Hammers were so desperate to keep hold of their talisman, despite the descent into the Championship. Bowen makes a final decision Alongside Chelsea and Liverpool, Manchester United were eyeing a cut-price deal to sign Bowen this summer, believing the Leominster native to be far too good a player not to remain in England’s top division. However, the man who blows bubbles through and through has now ruled out an exit from the London Stadium, instead committing his long-term future to the East London club by signing a new deal, as Romano confirms. 🚨⚒️ Jarrod Bowen STAYS at West Ham and will play for #WHUFC in Championship next season. He’s signed revised contract at the club and his decision is to continue at West Ham. The captain stays. ©️ pic.twitter.com/AEhbvawc4Y — Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 17, 2026 Tweet: “Jarrod Bowen STAYS at West Ham and will play for #WHUFC in Championship next season. Interestingly, Bowen will be the second West Ham star the Red Devils have missed out on this month, following Mateus Fernandes’ decision to join Tottenham Hotspur. However, there remains hope of striking a deal for a third Hammer in the form of Bowen’s partner on the left, Crysencio Summerville. AS Roma are pushing hard to sign the 24-year-old Netherlands international, who has attracted attention from other top clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain. He is seen as the “No.1 target” at Old Trafford for the left wing, with talks ongoing over a deal.
