This was in addition to winning the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year, United’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season prizes. The Portugal international is widely seen as the favourite to scoop up the PFA Player of the Year prize, ahead of the likes of Declan Rice, Gabriel, David Raya, Erling Haaland, Igor Thiago and Antoine Semenyo. No player has created more chances than Fernandes since he arrived in the Premier League six years ago. His 670 chances created since January 2020 are 238 more than De Bruyne, who ranks second.
