United superstar’s summer preference comes to light as financial roadblocks linger – report

Manchester United are preparing to part ways with one of their most in-form stars once the current Premier League campaign concludes. Casemiro, who is enjoying his most prolific season in front of goal, is all set to depart with his current deal set to expire. The Red Devils had the option of triggering a one-year extension clause, but both the player and the club mutually agreed to waive that clause. The defensive midfielder, who has nine goals this term, will be a huge miss, especially in both boxes but it has been clear for a while that the 20-time English league champions need a more mobile option in the middle of the park. Inter Miami leading the race for Casemiro While the 34-year-old’s teammates and the fans want him to stay for one more season, the former Real Madrid superstar has categorically ruled out a change of heart. As previously relayed by The Peoples Person, Inter Miami are currently in pole position to land the five-time Champions League winner, despite the interest of Saudi Pro League sides. Casemiro has been to Florida with his family on vacation and likes the place. Complications have arisen due to LA Galaxy’s entry into the race. However, The Daily Mail have reported that the Brazil international prefers to reunite with former Barcelona rival Lionel Messi at Miami. LA Galaxy have complicated matters However, the Herons, owned by United legend Sir David Beckham, will first need to make space within their wage structure before signing off on the deal. In fact, even a pay cut could be in order for Casemiro, if he is to play alongside Messi at the Nu Stadium. “The decision not to extend Casemiro’s £375,000-a-week deal was made by the club, and United are sticking by that decision as they search for a replacement. “The 34-year-old will leave as a free agent and is understood to prefer Lionel Messi’s Miami side over LA Galaxy if he moves to Major League Soccer.
