Picture: United’s stunning new kit with “unique retro-feeling design” drops early for a select few

The current season may not be over yet, but with a return to the Champions League now secured, many Manchester United fans are already looking ahead to next season. United confirmed their return to Europe’s elite football competition with a 3-2 victory over Liverpool FC on Sunday, a result that also strengthens the Red Devils’ grip on a third-placed finish this season. With the United team and interim manager Michael Carrick rightly receiving plenty of praise at the moment, there are many reasons for United fans to be optimistic for next season. A hugely important summer While United’s performances have undoubtedly been stellar since Michael Carrick returned to the club in January, there is an understanding that the upcoming summer transfer window will play a key role in United’s ongoing success. A place in the Champions League guarantees at least eight extra games next season, and the club will be hoping to progress further in each of the domestic cup competitions too. To handle the demands of those extra games, United will need to strengthen the squad with several additions. Central midfield is a particularly problematic area given Casemiro, one of only 11 Brazilians to ever play for United, will depart at the end of the season. A number of talented Premier League stars, such as Elliot Anderson and Morgan Rogers, have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, promising an exciting few months ahead.
