Real Madrid “perplexed” as United pick next permanent manager and decide to “reward” him with £60m transfer – report

Newcastle United put an end to Michael Carrick’s unbeaten run as Manchester United’s interim head coach. The 2-1 defeat against 10-man Newcastle sparked significant debate about whether Carrick should be given the job permanently. However, the Englishman has led United to third place in the Premier League table. Achieving Champions League qualification would make it difficult for INEOS to overlook Carrick, especially given the lack of elite options. Manchester United’s move causes “problem” at Real Madrid According to a report in Spain, as relayed by Football365, Manchester United have already decided to appoint Michael Carrick as their next permanent boss and are prepared to “reward” him with a transfer. It is claimed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is “very pleased” with Carrick and “wants to reward his excellent work with a number of top-class signings”. This development has left Real Madrid “perplexed”. United are reportedly keen on signing Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck. Known for his composure on the ball and excellent positional awareness, Schlotterbeck has made it “clear” that he “wants to embark on a new challenge”. The 26-year-old German has attracted interest from United, Real, Liverpool and Bayern Munich. However, Schlotterbeck has ruled out Bayern as he would prefer to move to the Premier League or La Liga.  Los Blancos believe “obsessed” United are “willing to make a big investment” to beat them to the Dortmund star, who is thought to be valued at around £60 million. Jadon Sancho expected to return to Borussia Dortmund Meanwhile, Dortmund have emerged as the leading candidates to secure the services of Jadon Sancho, according to a separate report.  Sancho, currently on loan at Aston Villa, will leave United at the end of the season upon the expiration of his contract. The soon-to-be free agent is wanted by several Premier League clubs as well as Serie A and Turkish teams.  However, Sancho favours a return to Dortmund for a third stint.  Featured image Alex Grimm via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
