Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic has outlined his plan for the future amidst suggestions that Manchester United are eyeing him. Midfield hunt United are expected to prioritise the midfield in the upcoming window, having spent most of last summer’s budget on beefing up their attacking department. The Red Devils spent north of 200m on the signings of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko. The club also brought in goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp on deadline day. United explored a move for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba put pulled out of a deal after learning of his prohibitive price tag. Baleba remains on the club’s transfer wishlist but he’s not the only one, with the likes of Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace) and Sandro Tonali (Newcastle) also featuring. United could look to sign more than one midfielder, with the need for depth being made more urgent by Casemiro’s imminent departure. The Brazilian confirmed that he will part ways with the club at the end of the season, when his contract expires. United have been mentioned to be long-term admirers of Pavlovic, who has emerged as a key player under Vincent Kompany at Bayern. Pavlovic has made 20 Bundesliga appearances so far, contributing three goals and one assist in that time. German transfer expert Christian Falk has provided the latest on the 21-year-old’s future. Pavlovic himself detailed his career plan. Pavlovic transfer update According to Falk, Bayern “will not sell” Pavlovic this summer. He goes on to say that United “have no chance” of landing the Germany international. Meanwhile, the player made it clear that his wish is to be a Bayern player for the entirety of his career. He remarked, “The best thing there is would be to play here for a lifetime with the fans, with the team.” “But of course, in life you never know what will happen, and that’s why it’s just a dream for now. If everything goes well, as we imagine, that would be wonderful.” Any attempt by United to press ahead with their pursuit of Pavlovic would appear to be an uphill battle.
