United “seriously” trying to sign 28-yo assist machine, “decision has been made” to agree €30m deal – report

Manchester United struggled to break down ten-man Newcastle United, eventually succumbing to an embarrassing 2-1 defeat. Bruno Fernandes was the only United player who looked comfortable with the ball at his feet and showed both intent and vision to find his teammates in the final third. The Portuguese midfielder assisted Casemiro’s goal just before the break. However, the creative brilliance of Fernandes, who in his desperation to make things happen gave away a reckless penalty, was not enough to keep United unbeaten under Michael Carrick. Manchester United interested in Julian Ryerson In February, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Manchester United are among the clubs monitoring Julian Ryerson. The Borussia Dortmund full-back, who is also comfortable playing at centre-half, has rapidly become one of the Bundesliga’s most creative players.  The 28-year-old has an impressive 14 assists to his name across all competitions this term. Last month, Ryerson registered a staggering four assists in a game against Mainz.  The Norwegian’s contract with Dortmund runs through to June 2028, but the German outfit are reportedly willing to part ways with him at the end of the season, much to the delight of his suitors. Manchester United cleared to sign Julian Ryerson According to Bild, as relayed by Metro, United are “seriously interested” in Ryerson. The German publication adds that Dortmund’s failure to reach the Champions League last 16 will have “significant consequences” on their finances. As such, Ryerson could be sold to “close the financial gap”. It is understood a “decision has been made” and the Bundesliga giants would consider selling the Norway international should they receive an offer in the region of €30m (£26m). A separate recent report claimed United “have promised” to triple Ryerson’s salary to secure his signature.  Featured image Pau Barrena via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
