United planning blockbuster summer swoop for Real Madrid superstar, he is the perfect fit for the club’s needs – report

Manchester United have been credited with an interest in signing Trent Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid this summer. As per reports in Spain (via F365), United have been linked with a potential approach. It adds that the Premier League side may move if an opening appears. Alexander-Arnold only joined the La Liga giants last summer after leaving Liverpool to begin a new chapter in Spain. The right-back arrived for a fee close to €10 million. Expectations were also shaped by his passing range and attacking output. His first campaign at the Bernabeu, however, has not gone smoothly. Injuries and strong competition have limited his minutes. Manchester United transfer idea takes shape It is believed that United are the most determined Premier League side in the chase. The English club view the current situation as a potential market opportunity. The report states that the Red Devils are preparing an offer close to €50 million. United also want a right-back comfortable building play from deep. From a purely financial angle, that figure would represent a major jump on Madrid’s initial outlay. Real Madrid stance points to unlikely exit Despite the claimed interest, however, Madrid are portrayed as not actively considering a sale in the near future. The report says the message internally is that they still count on the defender. A departure, therefore, would only be entertained if an offer is impossible to refuse. Letting him go so soon after signing him is also presented as an awkward fit with the logic of last summer’s deal. Alexander-Arnold is also said to have a contract in place and time to reassert himself. Madrid, therefore, believe he can still grow into the role. In addition, given his Liverpool past and the historic rivalry between Liverpool and United, a switch to Old Trafford would be seen as especially unlikely. For United, that means any pursuit may hinge on shifting a firm early position in Madrid. It would not simply be about meeting a valuation. As things stand, the summer window will decide the final outcome. In essence, the general consensus is continuity in Spain rather than a rapid exit. Time will tell though. Watch this space.
