CL giants prepared to pay €50m for United star, “good relationship” could help agree deal after initial talks – report

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo delivered a promising cameo in the 4-4 draw with Bournemouth at Old Trafford.  Mainoo got a hero’s reception when Ruben Amorim introduced him with 30 minutes to play against the Cherries. The Red Devils were trailing 3-2 when he replaced Casemiro.  With the Carrington gem on the pitch, United were able to take more control and score two more goals. The 20-year-old impressed with his sharp link-up play and intensity out of possession.  Real Madrid interested in Kobbie Mainoo Still, Kobbie Mainoo‘s future remains a doubt as he continues to be linked with a mid-season exit. He is yet to start a Premier League game this season. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming at least 12 clubs are in the race for Mainoo. Real Madrid allegedly explored the possibility of signing Mainoo last summer, and they continue to follow the United academy product, with Xabi Alonso keen on bolstering his midfield.  Real Madrid reluctant to meet Man United’s asking price According to Defensa Central, Real have enquired about Mainoo ahead of the winter transfer window.  It is understood United are open to permanently parting ways with their academy product. However, they have slapped a massive price tag of €90 million on the dynamic midfielder.  Los Blancos have reportedly made it clear that they are only prepared to pay as much as €50m to sign the United youngster. Interestingly, it is added that there is a good relationship between the two European powerhouses, which could pave the way for new negotiations, potentially resulting in an agreement.
