United star delivers crucial update on injury scare as Ruben Amorim prays for a speedy return

Matheus Cunha has given an injury update on social media after it was revealed the Manchester United forward would miss this weekend’s clash against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. A Tough Away Day The Red Devils travel to Selhurst Park on Sunday to face Oliver Glasner’s side, one of the only other teams in the division to play the same 3-4-2-1 system as United. But where Ruben Amorim has struggled to implement his trademark system, despite the success it produced in Lisbon for Sporting CP, Glasner has overseen arguably the best period in Palace’s history. Under the Austrian coach, the Eagles have won two trophies in the space of three months – the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, beating Manchester City and Liverpool in the process – and gone on their longest unbeaten run in the Premier League era. But they will again be without Cunha and Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko after Amorim confirmed the pair were ruled out in today’s press-conference. Cunha, 26, suffered a serious head injury in training last week. The blow caused him to miss a charity event and, as per concussion protocols, missed both the Everton and, now, Palace fixtures. A Positive Update Cunha took to social media to clarify his condition with fans desperate to see him back in action after the abject attacking display on Monday. Posting on Instagram, the Brazil international wrote: “Thank you for the messages. I haven’t gone crazy yet. Despite the joke, thank you for your concern. The 26-year-old forward, signed from Wolves for £62.5 million in the summer, has not racked up the number of goals and assists he undoubtedly would have hoped at this stage of his debut campaign.
