United leading race to sign €20m midfielder, he has made it clear he wants PL move – report

Manchester United’s midfield problems are starting to bite, impacting the side’s progress under Ruben Amorim.  A new goalkeeper and a revamped attack have made an instant impact, helping United remain unbeaten in their last five Premier League games. Still, the Red Devils continue to struggle to dominate games, largely because of lack of quality in the middle of the park.  After a summer outlay of £225m, the club’s hierarchy may not be able to spend recklessly mid-season, but they should definitely try to capitalise on an unmissable market opportunity. Manchester United keen on Ruben Neves Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are interested in Ruben Neves. Known for his composure in possession and ferocious ball-striking, the Portugal international left Wolves to join Al Hilal in 2023. Neves’ contract in the Saudi Pro League is due to expire next summer, and the technically gifted midfielder could reportedly be on the move for just €20m.  There are some concerns over his possible wage demands, as the 28-year-old is currently taking home £410,000 a week at Al Hilal. However, a report in Spain suggests money is not going to be the deciding factor. Neves determined to return to the Premier League According to Fichajes, Neves has made it clear that he wants to return to the Premier League, with United believed to be one of the “leading candidates” for his signature.  The Portuguese midfielder wants to join an ambitious project and feels he has an “unfinished business” in the Premier League.  United are considering opening talks over reduced contract terms, as they intend to take advantage of his desire to compete at the highest level. It is understood the ex-Wolves star will prioritise sporting matters over financial ones.  Figures at Old Trafford reportedly admire Neves’ technical ability and leadership qualities.
