Slovenia issue fresh statement on Sesko’s injury after manager’s stinging rebuke of disrespectful United

The Football Association of Slovenia have released a statement in an effort to ease tensions between the national team and Manchester United over Benjamin Sesko’s injury. Slovenia boss slams United Last weekend, Sesko picked up a knee injury as United played out a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in North London. Sesko came on as a substitute but did not finish the game, as he sustained an injury that forced him to withdraw, leaving United reduced to 10 men. It was later revealed that his injury is not as serious as initially feared. This was supported by The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell, who further noted that Sesko would not link up with Slovenia for the November international break. Earlier this week, fuming Slovenia boss Matjaz Kek blasted United for failing to share the details of Sesko’s injury with the side. Kek insisted that he wanted Sesko to be examined by a national team doctor, as he called for United to show them more respect. Now, it appears the conflict has been resolved if a statement by the Football Association of Slovenia is anything to go by. Slovenia release Sesko statement They released a statement which reads [via Manchester Evening News], “The medical team of the Slovenian national football team received the complete medical documentation from Manchester United regarding Benjamin Sesko’s health condition following his injury on Saturday, including the current clinical picture and the examinations performed.” “Unfortunately, the injury currently does not allow for the training process.” “In the coming days, additional examinations and the start of treatment are planned at the club, so Benjamin will unfortunately not be able to participate in this national team action.” “We wish Benjamin a speedy recovery and a return to the football field as soon as possible.” For now, United fans continue to wait with bated breath to learn the full extent of Sesko’s setback and how long he will be sidelined.
