United provide official statement on health of one of Amorim’s main men after injury scare

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has made a speedy recovery after his injury scare versus Tottenham Hotspur. Three players went off with concerns versus Spurs in North London on Saturday afternoon. Benjamin Sesko was forced off which left the Red Devils to fight on with ten men. Harry Maguire and Casemiro were also both subbed off due to injury issues. The 33 year old left the field in the 72nd minute, replaced by Manuel Ugarte. Impressive Brazilian The veteran has been in inspired form this season and has consolidated himself as one of Ruben Amorim’s key players in the starting line up. He scored against Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest recently in the league. What’s more, he put in an impressive showing versus Tottenham in his side’s 2-2 draw away from home at the weekend. Injury boost It was feared that the Brazilian might miss some game time but these fears have been reduced as he has been called up to the Brazil national team. The Standard report that, “Manchester United have issued a fitness update on Casemiro following his withdrawal against Tottenham.” The paper adds, “although Casemiro was substituted during the Spurs game, with head coach Ruben Amorim suggesting afterwards the midfielder needed to come off, the 33-year-old has linked up with Brazil, for their games in Europe.” The Brazilians will be involved in friendlies against Senegal and Tunisia with their qualification campaign already wrapped up. Casemiro was left out of the Brazil team only a year ago but under his former manager at Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, his importance has rocketed once again. He is now the captain of the team and will surely lead out the Brazilians in the 2026 World Cup where they will aim to win their sixth title.
