Poor last time out

The Cameroonian keeper struggled desperately last time out in spite of his side’s 4-3 victory, making two poor efforts to stop the ball flying into the net.

Nonetheless, he was in much better form this time around as his new team beat Kayserispor 4-0.

Impressive display

Onana kept a clean sheet and made seven saves in a considerable effort for his team.

Early on, he tipped a dangerous close range header around the post to prevent the visitors from taking the lead.

From the resulting corner, he made a wonderful full stretch save to deny a well placed header.

Just before half-time, he also made two strong stops to deny an equaliser from the away side, one particularly impressive effort from a close-range half volley.

According to the statistics, he prevented 1.65 goals for his side and made one high claim in the match to protect his box.

He had 40 touches of the ball and completed 82% of his passing attempts.

Onana was also effective in his passing, completing six out of his 11 long ball attempts during the match.

The Cameroon international also made one clearance and completed his only aerial duel in an all-round strong performance.

The victory means that his Trabzonspor side stay second in the league, four points behind leaders Galatasaray.

Onana will next be in action when his team travel to face Rizespor on Saturday 18th October.

He will most likely be involved for Cameroon when then play Mauritius in World Cup qualifying this coming Wednesday.
