United have ace up their sleeve to steal a march on Chelsea for “gem that is captivating Europe” – report

Manchester United once again find themselves in a situation where fans are desperate to see improvements to the squad after a poor start to the season.

Despite over £200 million being spent this summer, supporters are already keen for the club to add more players in the market after three losses in their opening six league matches.

Interest in Kenan Yildiz

United have been linked to the 20-year-old Turkish sensation for some time as he has continued to impress at Juventus.

The attacking midfielder scored 12 goals in all competitions last season and played an impressive 52 times for the Old Lady.

United are already battling a host of European giants for the youngster’s signature but Spanish reports suggest that the Red Devils have an advantage over other clubs.

The Marcus Rashford factor

The England international is currently on loan at FC Barcelona and has scored two goals and grabbed three assists so far.

Nonetheless, it is uncertain that Barcelona will make the loan deal permanent this summer and this could allow other teams to jump into the race.

Fichajes report that “Manchester United is positioned as one of the big favorites to sign Kenan Yildiz, Juventus Turin’s star player, in the upcoming summer transfer window.”

The report states that, “one of the factors that could give Manchester United an advantage in this deal is the future of Marcus Rashford. The English striker has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, which would open up a significant financial opportunity.”

They go on to state that, “if the Parisians make a multi-million dollar offer, the Red Devils would have enough liquidity to compete for Yildiz, whose value exceeds £80 million according to British media reports.”

A gem

The attacking midfielder is described as “the gem that is captivating Europe” with his versatility appealing to numerous top clubs.

Nonetheless, according to Fichajes it is United who are willing to make “the first formal step in negotiations” with Chelsea not yet making a “definitive move” in the race which has “opened the opportunity” for United to strike.

It is also suggested that whilst Juve would love to keep him, financial pressure and the appeal of the Premier League could prove too strong to withstand a big money sale in the near future.
