Journalist Fabrizio Romano has said there is a “concrete chance” that Casemiro will leave Man United at the end of the season.
Man United are ready to come out of the international break, as they will be thrust straight into a huge game against rivals Man City, who have, much like United, had a poor start to the new season. Both sides have won just one of three games so far.
One player who has been a regular starter for United so far this season is midfielder Casemiro, who is in the last year of his contract at Old Trafford. There were reports in the summer which stated that the Brazilian could leave for the Saudi Pro League, but he decided against it, as he wants the best chance to be in the Brazil World Cup squad next summer.
However, with his contract due to expire in June 2026, what could the future hold for Casemiro? Could he stay at United, or will he be leaving?
Romano says Casemiro will leave
Amid the uncertain future of the midfielder, Journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed on his YouTube channel, that he believes Casemiro will leave for a new challenge at the end of the season.
He said: “Keep an eye on Casemiro for 2026, I think there’s a concrete chance to see Casemiro leave Manchester United. This could be the final season for Casemiro in European high leagues, and maybe he will try for something different for 2026.
“This is not something decided, but from what I’m hearing in the industry, there is a feeling that Casemiro might decide to take a different step. For Manchester United, he remains an important player, but also a big salary. He never wanted to go this summer, but for 2026, we will see.”
Casemiro joined the Red Devils in August 2022, when they paid a hefty £70m fee to bring him from Real Madrid to the North West. The 33-year-old has made over 120 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists.
