Former Man United defender Wes Brown has said that striker Rasmus Hojlund will improve this season despite his struggles last year.
The Red Devils are in desperate need of a reliable number nine, and they have been linked to adding one this summer. Benjamin Sesko, Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson are all targets for Man United, but affording one could be an issue.
Seeing as United are running out of options, Rasmus Hojlund may have to step up and become the regular scorer for Ruben Amorim, but it would be a big step as he scored just four Premier League goals last season.
Former Man United defender Wes Brown believes that Hojlund is more than capable of improving and becoming a more reliable option. He told ManUNews exclusively via WhichBookie: “It was always going to be difficult.”
“There was a lot of pressure on him, he got a lot of stick, but he’s a great lad. You can see that he never gives up, and he would have wanted to do better last year. I’m sure he will this year, he’s been working hard and I honestly do think he will score more goals next season.
“He’s got a lot of negative stick, but he’s still making good runs, and from what I’ve seen so far, he’s looking really good.”
Brown thinks Man United should sign Sesko
Amid the talk of potentially signing a new striker, we took the opportunity to ask Brown which attacker he thinks United should sign out of Sesko, Jackson and Watkins, and he said: “I would probably go Sesko.”
However, Brown did say that all three were good options, but he is disappointed by the fact that there isn’t more choice for Man United.
He said: “It’s a lot of money, we need to get this right. It’s a shame there’s not a lot of choice. It would be good to get someone up front along Hojlund, it’s just another option for the manager.”
