Manchester United are yet to raise any funds from player sales this summer.
The arrival of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a deal worth £71 million has taken United’s total spending to over £130m.
After United missed out on European football, it was expected that Ineos would have to sell to fund Ruben Amorim’s rebuild. However, the Red Devils have struggled to sell their unwanted players.
Marcus Rashford has left the club, but only on loan to Barcelona. Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, and Antony are all waiting to resolve their respective futures.
Antony, however, has attracted a lot of interest following a prolific loan stint at Real Betis. The Spanish outfit are keen on extending his stay in Seville but have shown little desire to meet United’s asking price.
Al-Nassr pushing to reunite Antony with Cristiano Ronaldo
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Al-Nassr are working on signing the Brazilian winger.
Now, Fichajes claim the Saudi Pro League giants are “willing to submit” a considerable offer close to £50m, the figure requested by the Premier League outfit.
The Spanish outlet add that Botafogo and São Paulo have also approached Antony. However, the 25-year-old believes this is not the right time to return to Brazil. He left São Paulo to join Ajax in 2020.
His priority is to remain in Europe, but his agent has confirmed that the Brazil international is open to moving to Saudi Arabia.
Antony’s sale could help Manchester United’s striker pursuit
A major outgoing this summer may help Ineos make a serious push for Benjamin Sesko, with Amorim determined to add a new striker to his ranks.
Both United and Newcastle United are in the race to sign Sesko. Interestingly, it has been reported that the Slovenian would prioritise a move to Old Trafford over St James’ Park as the Mancunians hold “immense appeal”.
However, RB Leipzig are demanding in excess of £70m for Sesko.
